June 06, 2018MEREDITH — Inter-Lakes High School's top 10 seniors will be attending schools across the country and pursuing a number of different fields.
Juliette Bean, Parker Caswell, Thomas DeTolla, Kaitlyn Gable, Emma O'Hearn, Gabrielle Nedeau, Megan Nickerson, Robert Sassan, Sarah Seeley, and Gracie Simpson are the top 10 ranked students at Inter-Lakes High School.
Simpson will be attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and said she is interested in studying engineering.
She said her top student activity was Destination: Imagination.
"Because there's lots of room for creativity," Simpson said. "I think it's really fun."
Bean will attend Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Fla., saying she would like to study politics or psychology.
She was especially involved in Student Council.
"We put on a bunch of events, and we're kind of in charge of a lot of things at school," Bean said.
DeTolla will be going to College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., saying he wants to study business or law.
He has been especially involved in sports, especially soccer, basketball, and lacrosse.
Caswell will attend Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and will double major in English and Environmental Science. He said he wants to work in policy writing or environmental law.
Caswell has especially been involved in Nordic skiing and has served as the student representative to the Inter-Lakes School Board.
"It's a lot of work, but I feel like it's a valuable position to hold," Caswell said of working on the school board.
Sassan will go to Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He said he is interested in studying environmental biology or math.
One of his top organizations was theater.
"I really like to perform, and I got to be involved in all aspects of the process," Sassan said.
O'Hearn will attend Husson University in Bangor, Maine. She said she wants to pursue something in science.
She especially liked being part of band, where she has played alto sax.
"I just really enjoy music," O'Hearn said.
Gable will go to Dartmouth College in Hanover, saying she wants to study biology or anthropology.
She especially liked being part of National Honor Society. Gable has volunteered at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center and has been part of the ASTRA Club.
Nickerson will attend Plymouth State University in Plymouth to study nursing. She said she wants to be a registered nurse specializing in pediatrics.
Nickerson said she hasn't really been part of student organizations, but has done community volunteering.
Seeley will be going to St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. to study pre-law. She said she wants to become a lawyer.
Seeley has especially been involved on the volleyball team.
"It's been a lot of fun, but it's been awesome," Seeley said. "When everybody joins together, it pays back."
Gabriele Nedeau will also attend St. Lawrence University and will study history and psychology.
She also plays soccer and tennis.
"I just think it's really fun to get together with friends and play," Nedeau said.
