Tuftonboro Library more than halfway toward fundraising goal

November 07, 2018
TUFTONBORO — The Tuftonboro Free Library is over the halfway mark toward its capital campaign goal of raising $500,000 for renovation and expansion of the existing facility. The steady success can be attributed to numerous fundraising efforts and consistent support from the Friends of the Tuftonboro Library and local contributors over the past ten years. Nearly $40,000 in matching funds have been raised, with $10,000 more possible.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees Gordon Hunt says that just over half of the nearly $2 million project has been raised. Funds include the Library Capital Reserve Fund ($421,303), previous private donations ($296,760), and the Tuftonboro Free Library Capital Campaign Committee ($331,320). The remainder, following contributions into the new year, will need to be financed.

Committee members include Marcia Fernald, Laureen Hadley, Natalie Hebden, Mark Howard, Chairman Gordon Hunt, David Lee, Carla Lootens, Dianne Luby, Librarian Christie Sarles, Bob Theve, Terri White and Jack Widmer.

Contacts for information on the project or contributions are Christie Sarles at info@tuftonborolibrary.org or Gordon Hunt at gordontuftlib@gmail.com.
