Eagles eager to get back to spring sports

NORTH CONWAY — Last spring was not what anybody wanted in terms of local high school sports, but athletes at Kennett are ready to get back to action in the coming week.

The baseball and softball Eagles will be opening the season at home against Winnisquam on Monday, April 12, and will then visit the Bears on Wednesday, April 14. Gilford is up next on the schedule, with the Eagles hosting on Monday, April 19 and then hitting the road on Wednesday, April 21.

Kennett will be at Plymouth on Monday, April 26, and wrap up the month of April with a home game against the Bobcats on Wednesday, April 28. The Eagles kick off May against Carroll Country rival Kingswood, with a home game on Monday, May 3, and a trip to Wolfeboro on Wednesday, May 5.

Kennett takes on Berlin on the road on Monday, May 10, and will be hosting the Mountaineers on Wednesday, May 12. Laconia is next on the schedule, with the Eagles hosting on Monday, May 17, and then traveling on Wednesday, May 19.

The final week of the season features games with Prospect Mountain, with Kennett hosting on Monday, May 24, and then wrapping the season in Alton on Wednesday, May 26.

The Kennett lacrosse boys kick off the season with games against Inter-Lakes, starting with a home game on Tuesday, April 13, and a trip to Meredith on Thursday, April 15. The Eagles take on Gilford on Tuesday, April 20, on the road and then host Gilford on Thursday, April 22.

Plymouth is up next, with the Eagles hosting on Tuesday, April 27, and will be on the road on Thursday, April 29. Four games with Kingswood are next on the schedule, with home games on Tuesday, May 4, and Thursday, May 13, with road games sandwiched in the middle on Thursday, May 6, and Tuesday, May 11.

Kennett hosts Inter-Lakes on Friday, May 14, then hosts Laconia on Tuesday, May 18, and visits the Sachems on Thursday, May 20. The season wraps up with a trip to Plymouth on Tuesday, May 25, and then a home game with the Bobcats on Thursday, May 27.

In what will be their first varsity season, the lacrosse girls kick off action at Inter-Lakes on Wednesday, April 14, then host Inter-Lakes on Saturday, April 17. On Tuesday, April 20, the Eagles host Gilford and then go on the road to Gilford on Thursday, April 22.

On Tuesday, April 27, the girls will be on the road in Plymouth before returning home to host the Bobcats on Thursday, April 29. The Eagles are at Kingswood on Tuesday, May 4, and will be hosting the Knights on Thursday, May 6.

Kennett will be at Inter-Lakes on Tuesday, May 11, and will be hosting the Lakers on Thursday, May 13, then will be at Belmont on Monday, May 17, and hosting Laconia on Thursday, May 20. The final home game is Tuesday, May 25, against Plymouth and the season wraps up at Belmont on Thursday, May 27.

The Eagle tennis teams kick off the season against Inter-Lakes on Tuesday, April 13, with the boys hosting and the girls on the road. The teams switch locations on Thursday, April 15. On Tuesday, April 20, the Eagle girls host Gilford and the boys are on the road in Gilford while on Thursday, April 22, the boys are at home and the girls are in Gilford.

Tuesday, April 27, brings games against Plymouth, with the boys hosting and the girls on the road and on Thursday, April 29, the girls host the Bobcats and the boys are on the road. Matches with Carroll County rival Kingswood are next, with the girls hosting on Tuesday, May 4, and the boys on the road, then on Thursday, May 6, the boys host and the girls are in Wolfeboro.

Kennett takes on Moultonborough the following week, with the boys hosting on Tuesday, May 11, and the girls on the road, then the teams switch locations on Thursday, May 13. The Eagle girls host Berlin on Tuesday, May 18, with the boys heading north and on Thursday, May 20, the girls head north and the boys are at home.

The season wraps up against Prospect Mountain, with the boys hosting on Tuesday, May 25, while the girls are in Alton and on Thursday, May 27, the girls will be hosting and the boys will be in Alton.

The Kennett track team will start the season with three meets on the road, opening at Prospect Mountain on Tuesday, April 13, at Laconia on Tuesday, April 20, and at Kingswood on Tuesday, April 27.

The team has a pair of home meets on Tuesday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 11, before wrapping up the season on Tuesday, May 18, at Kingswood.
